Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy®
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is a new approach to health and healing with roots in traditional osteopathy. This bodywork modality involves the use of gentle touch to encourage the natural movement of fluid within the craniosacral system and body. Stress, disease and trauma may inhibit the rhythm of these fluids and negatively impact on the healthy development and functioning of the central nervous system and other physiological systems. Craniosacral therapy facilitates the readjustment and correction of the innate self-healing mechanism within the body. Clients often report deep relaxation and a perception of psychological well-being after a craniosacral session. Anecdotal data suggests it is effective in the treatment of a variety of disorders.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage is a touch therapy that addresses chronic muscle tension and pain patterns by focusing on the deeper layers of muscle tissue and fascia. This work may utilize slow strokes and pressure or friction carefully applied to address the specific and underlying source of muscle tension. The therapist moves respectfully into the muscle fibers to correct the issue with a minimum of discomfort, applying an appropriate degree of pressure. Deep tissue massage helps break up scar tissue, improve muscle functioning, and improves blood circulation and oxygenation to the muscles being addressed. While very therapeutic, deep tissue massage is also very relaxing.
Esthetics (Skincare)
Esthetics is the practice of providing skincare services such as facials and body treatments. Proper skincare clears the skin of dirt and debris, protects against harsh environmental factors, and aids in the prevention of premature aging by increasing circulation and stimulation of the skin. Esthetic treatments can also offer deep relaxation for a better sense of well-being. All skincare treatments at Phoenix Massage are done using all-natural and organic products, including all-natural mineral cosmetics. Waxing services are also available.
Foot Reflexology
Foot reflexology is based on ancient Chinese medicine and polarity therapy principles of health. Pressure is applied to specific areas of the foot that refer to various systems of the body, helping to stimulate the optimal functioning of organs, relieve congested areas and encourage the flow of energy. Reflexology is used to reduce pain, increase relaxation, stimulate the circulation of blood and lymph, and is effective in addressing stress-related conditions.
HeartMath®: Life Coaching

The HeartMath® process has a focus on stress management and creating balance so that the client builds more resilience. For a complimentary half hour session, please contact Susan Kirk.
Hot Stone Massage
In Hot Stone Massage, heated stones become the extension of the practitioner’s hands in massaging the soft tissue of the body. These warm, smooth stones are very effective in releasing muscle tension, increasing circulation, and producing a deep state of relaxation. Stones are generally heated to 120 degrees, however, the temperature can be adjusted to the client’s comfort level. Clients often report a profound state of relaxation and connection to the healing energy of the earth after this bodywork experience.
Pre-Natal Massage
Pre-Natal or pregnancy massage is designed to address the specific needs of the expectant mother and baby. Light, comforting pressure helps to reduce stress, decrease swelling in the limbs, and relieve some of the pain associated with pregnancy. Careful positioning ensures comfort and safety. Prenatal massage is very helpful in reducing anxiety and depression—so important in achieving a satisfying pregnancy and bonding between mother and baby. All expecting mothers must have a doctor’s release to receive any treatment.
Reiki
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and healing. It is a natural and simple healing method in which a Reiki practitioner will lay his/her hands upon you, helping to ease your spirit and increase your energy flow. Common benefits of a Reiki session are pain relief, strengthened immune system, toxin clearing, relaxation, personal energy balancing and many people experience a great sense of calm and a restful night of sleep. Reiki sessions and Reiki classes are by appointment only.
Sound Vibrational Tuning Fork Therapy
Like a piano, when our bodies are “in tune”, they are able to operate on a healthier, more vibrant level. Sound vibrations help to awaken an energy system in our body that opens our natural energy flow, clears us of blockages, and moves us into a higher state of consciousness. Tuning Fork sessions involve the use of various frequencies that are activated and waved over the etheric body or placed on certain points of the physical body. This treatment has received gracious reviews from clients who have experienced feelings of deep relaxation, immediate release of sinus pressure, improved mobility of stiff joints, and even profound emotional and physical warmth and comfort.
Swedish Massage
Swedish massage is a classic touch therapy that includes a variety of techniques including stroking and kneading of muscles, circular pressure, stretching and joint mobilization. Swedish massage improves oxygenation of blood and muscle tissue, and blood circulation throughout the body. It aids the lymphatic system in removing metabolic waste products that often contribute to muscle soreness and sensitivity. Swedish massage improves nerve enervation and function while also calming the nervous system. Light to moderate pressure is utilized to achieve a therapeutic yet deeply relaxing experience. Because of its effectiveness in reducing stress, Swedish massage is highly recommended for stress management.
